00. GENERAL INFORMATIONS

EURASIA MUSIC COMPETITION  it's a virtual contest, entirely in English, created on 22nd November 2009, with with participants representing primarily European, Asian and some African/Oceanic countries. At least 100 countries are eligible to compete. However after 3 years of activity, it closed. On 22nd November 2019, Eurasian Broadcasting Union announced the return with a revamp of the competition.

 

Eurasia Music Competition is based upon the existing Eurovision Song Contest held among the member countries of the European Broadcasting Union since 1956. Eurasian Broadcasting Union (EBU) suited their own rules to the Online Contest and uses Youtube® and Facebook® platforms for its realization.

➡️ To participate, you simply need to have interest in this competition, a competitive attitude and be fluent in English language.

➡️ No matter where the member is from, everyone can participate.

➡️  Once per year, Eurasian Broadcasting Union has determined that at least once per year, the Reference Group will revise and reformulate the rules of the competition in order to improve the level of them.

📅 The following Rules were reviewed and approved by the Reference Group on 6th November 2021.


01. HOW TO BE A MEMBER OF THE COMPETITION

To take part in Eurasia Music Competition, you must send request to enter in Facebook® Group of Eurasia Music Competition and after you must contact Administrator of Group to have your membership request official (Click Down Here):

02. CONTEST FORMAT

02.1. Each edition of Eurasia Music Competition lasts one month and is directly followed by a new edition, so it's mentioned to exist at least 11 normal editions and 1 special edition per year;

02.2. There is no restriction on the number of participants, but if more than 26 nations sign up, there will be one or more Semi-Final(s) to determinate which songs will qualify for the Grand Final:

  • Less than 26 participants: There will be 1 Grand Final, which will contain in a maximum 26 songs.
  • 27-45 participants: There will be 2 Semi-Finals with 12 songs qualifying from each Semi-Final, making a Grand Final of 25 songs.
  • More than 46 participants:

(a) There will be 2 Semi-Final's with 13 songs qualifying from each Semi-Final, making a Grand Final with 27 songs.

(b) There will be 3 Semi-Final's with 9 songs qualifying from each Semi-Final,  making a Grand Final with 28 songs.

(c) There will be 4 Semi-Finals with 7 songs qualifying from each Semi-Final, making a Grand Final with 29 songs.

 

 

02.3. The Winner of the previous edition, will be automatically qualified for the next edition's Grand Final. Attention: The Automatic Qualification spot follows the nation and not the member;

03. ABOUT MEMBERS & PARTICIPATING COUNTRIES:

03.1. You can choose any official nation in the world, as long as it is not already taken. You can see, which nations are available in "Members" page;

03.2. It's required to participate at least three editions with the same nation;

03.3. The nation that a member is currently representing is always reserved to him, as long as the deadlines are met. If for some reason the member can't participate one edition but want to return afterwards, just let us know before the deadline, and we'll keep the nation with member;

03.3.1. A nation will, however, be set free for others to take if:

03.3.1.1. The member doesn't submit a song for an edition without letting us know that he/she wants to take a short break OR we don't hear anything from him/her before the 15th of that month;

03.3.1.2. A member doesn't vote in one edition OR doesn't submit a song for the following edition.

03.3.1.3. Members can ONLY play with one song and thus for one nation in each edition, in other case, we consider it banned from Eurasia Music Competition.

04. ABOUT ARTIST(S) AND SONG(S):

A R T I S T (S)

4.1. In Order for an Artist to represent a nation at least one of the following criteria's must be met. In a Duet, at least one of the singers must met one of those criteria's as well. However, do notice that you should be able to provide documentation (e.g. An Official Website):

  • Holds that nation's citizenship;
  • Was Born in the nation;
  • Permanently living in the nation;
  • At least one of the artist's parents hold's that nation's citizenship or was born in the nation.

4.2. For a group at least one lead singer or the majority of the group members should meet one of the criteria's. Its required just 1 member nationality from the group to represent respective nation of that member. Example of this Situation: The Saturdays, is a British group, with 1 Irish member. This means that The Saturdays are available to represent Ireland in the competition;

4.3. An Artist or Duet or Group cannot participate more than 3 times within 10 consecutive editions;

 

B O R R O W I N G (S)

 

4.5. Small nations with a population less than 1 million (with some exceptions) may send singers from one of its bordering Nations or Regions. However borrowing isn't encouraged! Here is the list of allowed Borrowing:

  •  Andorra can borrow Artists from  Spain;
  •  Bahrain can borrow Artists from  Saudi Arabia;
  •  Bhutan can borrow Artists from  India &  Nepal;
  •  Brunei can borrow Artists from  Indonesia &  Malaysia;
  •  Cyprus can borrow Artists from  Greece;
  •  Faroe Islands can borrow Artists from  Denmark;
  •  Gibraltar can borrow Artists from  Spain &  United Kingdom;
  •  Greenland can borrow Artists from  Denmark;
  •  Hong Kong can borrow Artists from  China;
  •  Kosovo can borrow Artists from  Albania;
  •  Liechtenstein can borrow Artists from  Austria and  Switzerland;
  •  Luxembourg can borrow Artists from  Belgium,  France and  Germany;
  •  Macau can borrow Artists from  China;
  •  Monaco can borrow Artists from  France;
  •  Nepal can borrow Artists from  China;
  •  North Korea can borrow Artists from  South Korea;
  •  San Marino can borrow Artists from  Italy;
  •  Timor East can borrow Artists from  Indonesia;
  •  United Arab Emirates can borrow Artists from  Saudi Arabia;
  •  Vatican City can borrow Artists from  Italy.

ATTENTION:  England,  Northern Ireland,  Scotland &  Wales participates separately in Eurasia Music Competition but just can send artists from their own nation;

 

4.6. Other small territories with or without independence (Overseas/Crown Dependencies Territories) are under process to participate in the competition, for example: Åland Islands; Isle of Man; Jersey; TRN Of Cyprus;

 

S O N G (S)

04.7. The language of a song doesn't need to be in nations native language, doesn't exist as well a date of release to take attention, this means that a song can be released in 1990 and it's available to participate. However, all songs just can have 6 minutes of length;

04.8. Cover versions are allowed;

04.9. Songs that have taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest or Junior Eurovision Song Contest are not allowed to take part in Eurasia Music Competition, however songs from national final's are allowed.

04.10. Song must available in Youtube Platform®;

04.11. Is not obligatory to have videoclip but EBU gives preference to songs which has videoclip's.

04.12. They may not contain offensive language that could adversely affect, in any way, a member or a nation of the competition.

04.13. It cannot contain an implied message of hatred or politics against a nation.

05. ABOUT VOTING & RESULTS PROCEDURE:

 05.1. Everyone have to vote in the Semi-Final's even if you are Directly Qualified for the Grand Final. When there are more than one Semi-Final you can and must vote in the allocated Semi-Final. In the Grand Final, the members who didn't qualified are obligated to vote;

05.2. Members can't vote for their own songs.

05.3. In the Semi-Final's and Grand Final, members must vote for 10 songs. The points must be give as follows: 12 points to the favorite song,10 to the second one, 8 to the third one and then 7 to 1 points for the songs that come 4th to 10th in favorites placement. In addition every member also has to send 11th, 12th, & 13th in case of the songs to which a member has given points is disqualified, the substitutes will get points in stead;

05.4. Votes should be sent by a voting form published during the edition;

05.5. Members must vote in time, otherwise who doesn't vote will be disqualified;

05.6. The song with the Highest Score is the Winner;

05.7. If two or more nations have the same final score, the one who received points from most juries will be the winner or best placed. If we still have a tie, then the number of 12 points received is considered (and then 10pts, 8pts, etc ... until we have a winner).
